People don't know god is important so they don't make a sign for them and I'm sad bc of that and it makes me sad bc what if you want to talkto someone about god but you can't bc there's no sign (btw it's 12:01 in the morning so yeah).

hey! just wanted to say that you can sign god with a half of a praying hand (your dominate hand flat near your chin) and bring it up and forward to sign god. if you want to sign jesus as well, you touch the center of your palm on each hand with the other hand. hope this helps!

This may seem like the case if you’ve never experienced it before, but there’s nothing you can’t talk about in sign language. Sign language is a conceptual language, so if there isn’t a specific sign for something, over time people will either create a new sign or you can make one up that you use with your specific community. You may also fingerspell if you cannot figure out how to properly sign something.

Also, if you cannot find a sign you want on this app, you can surf the internet as well. There are many different dialects and cultures as well as many different signs for the same thing, so don’t assume there isn’t a sign for something if you weren’t able to find it from a singular source. Always cast a wider net if you want the bigger picture!

Learning a few ASL signs used in Christian worship can help share faith in a clear and meaningful way. • God – An open hand moves upward from the forehead. The motion points upward, symbolizing God above us. • Jesus – The middle finger touches the center of each palm. This represents the nail wounds from the crucifixion. • Pray – Hands together near the chin in a prayer position, representing speaking to God. • Church – Fingers interlock, symbolizing believers gathered together as one body. • Bible – Hands open like a book, representing the Scriptures being read and shared. • Holy Spirit – A hand moves outward from the mouth like breath or wind, reflecting how Scripture often describes the Spirit. These signs are simple, meaningful, and a beautiful way to express faith through American Sign Language.

Just saying Hi👋👋👋

Hi👋👋 I am new here I am hearing but I have been around sign language all my life since I was little. I want to say that ASL is a way that all of God's people to be able to communicate. Hearing or not. I thank God for this app and for the ability to learn Asl.

New to ASL

I am not hearing impaired but am speech impaired. My husband is not speech impaired and is not deaf but is quite hard of hearing. I have unilateral vocal chord paralysis with weak voice and tendency for laryngospasms. We just started learning the alphabet and can only fingerspell slowly. He is not speech impaired. Plan is, he will read my signs and speak for me in public. Am on Section 1, ABC 2. Have learned 19 of 26 letters. Years of learning still ahead but one step at a time.
