Sign Name

I know you're supposed to get your sign name from a deaf person. My baby passed away at three months, and I hadn't gotten a chance to find the deaf community around me so she didn't get her name sign. I really would like for her to have a cool one. I want to be able to talk about her without finger spelling her name. I wasn't born deaf so I want to respect the culture. Does anyone know how I can get her name sign? Her name is Jaden.

exam question discrepancies

In section 14, lesson 4 had a grammar issue with one of the sentences that needed to be interpreted. The word offered to select was vacation so the verb I chose was singular, is, but the answer said that was wrong and it should’ve been vacations are, but there was no plural “vacations” to choose. Also in the exam for first set of lessons in the first part of section 14, one of the sentences to be interpreted, the sign for the fruit given looked like lemon, but the only two fruit words offered to choose from were mango or strawberry berries, but the sign was neither mango nor strawberries. The answer wanted strawberries, but the sign used was not strawberries.

ASL beginner

Hello guys, I just started learning ASL the other day and is it normal to not be able to read fast in ASL? I’m having a hard time reading their sign languages, is there any way I can improve—or does it improve over time?

Competing in Leagues

My daughter has finally reached the same level as me in the leagues. We are both currently champion 3. This is her first time being there and going for grand champion. Congrats to her. I'm very proud of her. I have noticed that I am not playing as aggressively as I normally do because I want her to reach grand champion so it looks like I am sacrificing my position. Sacrifice is probably too strong of a word. 🤣 Anyway, I just wanted to put that out there. Being a parent does weird things to your normal competitive behavior I guess. 🤷‍♀️

Sentence Structure

I still don't understand sentences. It feels like the structure changes for each sentence. How would I sign "The blue book is under the big table"? Or "The beautiful cat is near the tree"?

Handedness

I noticed the directions for signs refers to “dominant” hand vs “non-dominant” hand instead of right vs left. I am right handed but 2 of my siblings are left handed. So do left handers sign the mirror opposite of right handers given their left hand is their dominant hand?
