tickets?

Not sure what the tickets do… haven’t used them yet. If someone can explain the perks involved in activating the ticket would really help.

Troubleshooting

The app is currently SO slow. Plus, when it wasn't slow, the replay button would not work at all. Thank you for reading, Maura Middle Schooler

flaws

I swear the translation from ASL to English tests are not accurate. Lately I’ve had the correct answer and it will tell me it’s wrong. Not only that but the translation isn’t always grammatically correct. For example “who ate my dessert” the correct translation was in the app was “who eat my dessert”. Furthermore, there could me multiple answers in English. For example “I want fruit for lunch” can also be “for lunch I want fruit” or “I want bacon with eggs for breakfast” can also be “for breakfast I want bacon with eggs”. The app will only take 1 right answer for the translation. :/

Letter confusion

A lot of the signers make the letter “o” look to similar to e and s a lot of the time and it’s too confusing :/ I used heart bits trying to figure it out :’)

country signs

We were taught several country signs but not necessarily continent signs. Like we were taught South Africa, but we were not taught just Africa so I’m assuming the second portion of the South Africa sign would be the sign for Africa. That is the letter A shaped dominant hand that circles the face. In section 16, the first set of lessons on animals, in lesson four, there is a sentence to interpret and part of it is supposed to be able to interpret the continent that the rhino is on. The options given were Asia or Africa. There was a sign I didn’t understand that was used, so I thought well maybe that’s Asia because it didn’t look like Africa because it wasn’t the letter A circling the face. So I selected that rhinos could be found in Asia, and that was wrong. It was supposed to pick Africa, but the sign was not given for Africa in the video.

exam question discrepancies

In section 14, lesson 4 had a grammar issue with one of the sentences that needed to be interpreted. The word offered to select was vacation so the verb I chose was singular, is, but the answer said that was wrong and it should’ve been vacations are, but there was no plural “vacations” to choose. Also in the exam for first set of lessons in the first part of section 14, one of the sentences to be interpreted, the sign for the fruit given looked like lemon, but the only two fruit words offered to choose from were mango or strawberry berries, but the sign was neither mango nor strawberries. The answer wanted strawberries, but the sign used was not strawberries.

Hi

Do you also say hi by waving instead of the “correct” “salute style”? Or is it just me?

traveling oversees ad issue

I’m traveling overseas and on a resort’s captive WiFi. For some reason the skip content button does to appear once the Google Ad is done playing. No matter how long I wait, it’s happened everytime I finish a lesson. I suspect the API call to the ad server is being blocked? The way around it was to use one of my boost to get 3 days of ad free content. That is working.

Add Section 18

Can you add Section 18 please?

why just why?

I just realized that on the sign language videos that they want you to do in the lessons to like figure out what signs they’re doing the girl who is doing it she only does half of a sign like instead of using two hands. She uses one hand on the ones that are supposed to use two hands luckily I figure it out, but it is so confusing.

Delineate b/w his/her/it vs your

I just came across a question where the sign was either like a his/her/it then brother but the answer was allegedly your brother. The sign for your is not the same as the sign for his/her/it. Why would the answer be your brother when the sign for your was never given but the sign for his/her/it brother was given? I shouldn’t have gotten it wrong when the video had the wrong sign.

alternative signs

Sometimes alternative signs are provided when introducing a new word, but not always. But then when questions are asked in the exam, an alternative sign is used that was never taught. The two examples so far have been breakfast and lunch. The words for breakfast and lunch are taught, but then in an exam, the alternative of time frame and meal are used instead. Like “morning meal” signs are used instead of breakfast. Or “noon meal” is used instead of lunch. But we are supposed to use the translation as breakfast and lunch in our response. It is intuithve so not a big deal, but still should be part of the education that either approach can be used to sign the type of meal.

sign Order

Still struggling with sign order. I am seeing the signs and I understand what is being said, but when I go to answer and I get it wrong, it’s because I’ve got a word out of order. Meanwhile I’m never taught what the actual order should be. There’s one section that talks about “topic then comment,” but there’s nothing in any of this process that actually provides education on how to do the order. And I have found it is not consistent either. There’s never an explanation as to what the actual answer is. I cannot learn if it never gives me the right answer. I go through the exam, I get a question wrong because I have a word out of order and it never tells me what the right answer is so I never learn. This needs to be fixed in this app.

Video and sign Clarity

The video for “I want fruit for lunch” in section 4 is very hard to tell the signs. The sign for “I” is never given. For the sign for “lunch” it is too hard to see the L shape of the hand. I watched that video at least 8 times trying to figure out what the signs were and just had to guess because the signs were missing if not clear, even once I saw what the answer was, I watched it again and there is never a sign for “I.”

Incorrect?

In the beginning when it's teaching you the alphabet, q, p, and k are OBVIOUSLY wrong!!! I'm currently trying multiple apps and they all have different signs compared to this one. I'm beginning to question which is right, and if I should uninstall because you can LITERALLY LOOK IT UP AND THE APP IS WRONG! Fix your game.

Lock in developers!

Why do you start with the alphabet. I think they should start with different basic signs instead of the alphabet because it can seem repetitive and not engaging. I hope you add a feature where you can look and flashcards or answer questions about the words, letters, or phrases you've learned so far.
