Glitch (5/7/26)
In "Adjectives 3" of Section 14 of the Intersign ASL app, it seems the app won't let me move on from or pass the fourth lesson, since the right answer is not even an option. "Summer vacations are always short" is what the app wants, but all it provides is, "Summer vacation is always short." Please try to fix it by the end of the day tomorrow, 5/8/26, if possible, so I may be able to keep learning with my streak unbroken and others may, in addition, too. I wish we could type it out, as well, but there's no option for that. Thanks for your time and attention and I look forward to hearing from you. Take care.
Sign variants not taught
In lessons you will taught the required vocabulary at the start of the lesson, and sometimes you will also be shown potential variations of those signs. However I have found this is not consistent. Such as in the Animals 1 lesson, you are taught the sign for cat. This is a somewhat large two handed sign where with open hands you mime whiskers on your face by pinching your index and thumb together on both hands and pulling them away from your face. There is no sign variations mentioned, however later in the same lesson you’re tasked to translate someone signing “Cats are beautiful” which should be simple, except the sign for cat is different. It’s one handed, closed fist, but still miming a whisker at least. This isn’t the only example but it is the first one I’ve encountered where I felt entirely confident what sign I was taught was different than what I was tested on. If this is to try and help us determine signs through context clues then I guess that’s important, but it would feel better if I was told that’s what I’m doing instead of having to give it my best guess when I’m supposed to be learning how to interpret a sentence. I’d really like if either these alternative signs were taught, or if the questions with untaught alternative signs were framed as a way to encourage us to interpret signs we don’t know, and then after answering the question, there was a section that said “Good job! That is another sign for cat” while showing the alternative sign in isolation, like we see with other signs
Ads locking up phone
Please fix your ap IS? It was annoying when ads started popping up DURING lessons. Now it seems to be the Acorn ad starts during a lesson AND won't close no matter what you do. To the point that you have to restart your phone. I can't be the only one and really don't want to stop using IS since I use it almost every day to keep my asl sharp but if all its going to do is lock up my phone in the middle of a lesson,I'll have to.
lower or remove
Pls lower or remove either the adds or the payment for the subscription because I was having fun doing the advanced spelling then it just cut me off and I don't have money to pay for that and adds are just annoying
word bank?
Are there other apps or sites that show words that are not on here?
Memorising
How to memorise asl easily and fastly Thank you
is it just me
I feel like the amount of errors you have in a lesson determines the amount of exp you get for the lesson. So the number of questions you get right you can get more exp so it can all be different and there can be competition
Issues/suggestions for the developers
As far as I can tell, the developers aren't checking this board, so if you have a suggestion or an issue you need to click on the icon for yourself, scroll to the bottom and hit the contact button.
Add a flag to report
I wish there was a flag to report typos or something that needs to be reviewed within each lesson. I just finished watching a video that signed that she liked chicken noodle soup, but there's a sign after "chicken" that looks like "sushi." I found it a weird soup, but it was an option, so I chose it. It was wrong. I also saw "don't" spelled as "do'nt" in another lesson. I feel bad that I can't flag things to help improve the app.
Free game
Can you guys please make a free game even like a endless quiz game. I really need a review because I lock in so hard and then I have trouble remembering all the words
Uninportant Misspell
This is very random but, I am learning the word “ Credit Card” and the description uses the word “yor” instead of “your “. It’s not needed to change, I just found it funny!
I can not figure it out!
The way they teach numbers on here is so confusing 🫤 My ASL teacher has taught us number 1 to 9 million and I got it but the way they teach numbers on here is um verey weird compared to what I got taught by my teacher who speaks but also does sign language the whole lesson. Can someone explain p?

I know this might not always be the first thing you want to do, but if you're bored, this is a great activity and just try your best!
what do you guys do?
Hey, so i'm pretty new to this, and I'm liking it a lot! I even like how there's a community here. I've been thinking of biting the bullet and getting the subscription because I really want to be fluent. But I'm not sure if it's worth it and I was hoping to hear from anyone who has advice if I should do that or keep up with the free version. Please lemme know what you guys think!
hard to memorize
Hi all. My wife is hearing impaired. I am hearing. We've been married 28 years. And I still know very very little. I can finger spell and understand if she goes slowly. I am having a hard time getting anything to stick even if I repeat the signs. It is hard to talk her when she's not wearing her hearing aid. (At night in bed/when her battery dies) Any tips or tricks out there to help with my dilemma? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
how do I learn songs
I want to learn songs to sing with my sister and create YouTube videos to share what I have learned on this app but I can't find a way to learn songs (so please help)
practice
How is everyone practicing sign so that they don't forget? I live in a pretty small town and I don't know any deaf people to sign with.
InterSign on YouTube?
Do you all have a YouTube channel? If not, it would be a great way to advertise this app. I'd definitely love people doing a newsletter, telling jokes or stories in ASL with it maybe repeated with captions.
YouTube is a fun way to learn.
There are lots of videos on learning the basics, conversational ASL, sentence structure and more!
