I’ve always seen family signed as 2 F-hand shapes that move in half circles and end in front of you with pinkies touching. On this app, family is open hands starting out and then ending together. Are these interchangeable or is one used in one circumstance and the other in another?

There's is a Halloween section in the glossary but there's is no ghosts which I find weird because ghosts are like a main thing during Halloween. I know they dont have all the signs but still. Does anyone else agree?

I’m curious if anyone else grew up like this but none of my family is deaf but my mother taught my brother, little sister, and me some basic signs before we could talk. She did it so we could communicate without just crying. Did anyone else learn ASL as a kid like this?
