Hello guys, I just started learning ASL the other day and is it normal to not be able to read fast in ASL? I’m having a hard time reading their sign languages, is there any way I can improve—or does it improve over time?

I noticed the directions for signs refers to “dominant” hand vs “non-dominant” hand instead of right vs left. I am right handed but 2 of my siblings are left handed. So do left handers sign the mirror opposite of right handers given their left hand is their dominant hand?

I checked out the Advanced Spelling section that lists several Waves. I was able to go in and did the first 5 words of Wave 1. I stopped for the night. Ever since, now when I try to go back and do the 6th word in Wave 1, a notice pops up and it is requiring me to join the paid membership. Are the spelling practices only for monthly paying members? I was able to do the first 5 words without being a paying member. Was that the limit and I just happened to have decided to stop coincidentally?

In Sect 8, verbs 3, the sign for “wish” is presented. I noticed it looked a lot like the sign for “hungry” that I learned before I started doing this app. I checked the Dictionary but noticed Hungry is not one of the words taught in this app. But just thinking, it looks a lot like “wish.” Although the hand may go down the chest further to the stomach to indicate like food going down to the belly.

Idk if this is common knowledge but I genuinely don’t know. If I sign the wrong word in a conversation or the wrong letter while spelling, what do I do? I don’t want to confuse the person I’m talking to by suddenly changing my sentence mid-way through. Can someone give me advice? Thanks
