Being a 11-year-old I wanted to learn sign language cause I thought it was cool in this app helps a lot. I have learned to say dad and other things and I started a couple days ago and I learned to say book and I really thought I wasn’t gonna do that well but this app showed me that I can.

Important notice - ABC: Spelling Videos

We’ve received several reports from learners who noticed that the letter O can look like an E in some videos, like in the word “SOUP” in ABC 3, Lesson 2. Miss Lesli, is actually spelling S-O-U-P correctly. However, we completely understand why it can look like S-E-U-P, especially if you are still learning the differences between these handshapes. The confusion comes from the way the letter O is being presented in the video. When Miss Lesli forms the O, her fingertips are facing toward the camera, which makes the circular shape of the O difficult to see from the viewer's perspective. The O and E can look quite similar from this angle, particularly to someone who is still becoming familiar with ASL. There is an important difference: when forming the O, the fingertips come together with the thumb to create a complete closed circle. With the E, the fingertips curl down but do not form that same fully closed circle against the thumb. Unfortunately, the current camera angle makes this distinction much harder to see than it should be. We've actually received similar feedback from learners, so we agree that this is something we need to improve (Same with spelling videos where letters M & N are used). We will be updating these videos and adjusting how the signs are presented so that the handshapes and spelling are much clearer for new learners. Letter confusion

A lot of the signers make the letter “o” look to similar to e and s a lot of the time and it’s too confusing :/ I used heart bits trying to figure it out :’)

Hurray for SKIP button

I just discovered the “skip” button, marking a question as correct and moving on. I was stuck on assembling the sentence: “my family beautiful “ but the images would not load. I guessed various blank white panels, multiple times, but they shuffled every time, and I didn’t want to press “X” to exit the lesson. Only the signs ‘my’ and ‘big’ would load. Found the skip icon in another corner! Never needed or used that in 370 days or more. Saved from frustration.

I am so confused

I don't know any sign language. I go here to learn it and it shows me how to do it once and expects me to remember it. Also the video will not replay when I press replay. Please help! I am having trouble finding good apps to learn how to sign for free!

Hey everyone! We hope you’re enjoying all the new improvements we’ve been working on over the past couple of months! We’ve been pretty busy, and Intersign has grown quite a bit. Here are some of the biggest things we’ve added and improved: - A completely new UI with a cleaner and more modern experience - The Intersign Forum — a place for the community to connect and share - Multiple sign languages — you can now learn ASL, BSL, and LSM in the same app - Lots of quality-of-life improvements to make the overall experience smoother and more enjoyable - Many bug fixes and performance improvements behind the scenes What’s next for ASL? One of our biggest focuses now is expanding our ASL vocabulary. We currently have over 1,000 signs, but we know that’s not nearly enough. We want Intersign to become a much more complete resource for learning ASL, so we’ll be adding new signs on a monthly basis. We’re also working on a new dynamic feature that will make it easier for you to discover and learn these newly added signs. Another area we want to expand is Deaf culture and education. We’ll be introducing new lessons and activities designed to teach more about Deaf culture, history, and the experiences of Deaf communities in general. We believe learning a sign language is about more than just learning signs — understanding the culture behind it is an important part of the journey as well. I finished all of the lessons! Besides going back over them to build up memory and practice, is there anything else to do? I cannot seem to do the spelling challenges. I guess that is for those who pay and I am just using the app for free.

New to the app, familiar with ASL

All last year in was in an ASL course at school! Now I’m in CE ASL which is kiiinda more advanced but we cover the same stuff for a little bit. Then I want to start plugging information from here into my brain because I need more signs, it’s never enough!! Anyways. Any one else in a similar boat?
