Hi, I am Louise. Hearing. Just started learning and I find it hard to see a difference in M and N in the lessons. The video is clearer than just a picture of each letter. Is this better with the subscription? I am learning for work. We have translators for several languages, but none for ASL. Hoping to make customers ordering a little easier! Thanks

For M: Put your first three fingers over your thumb. Pinkie goes under thumb For N: Thumb goes under first two fingers. Your thumb will be in-between your ring and middle finger

there are a few signs harder to see in this app. I have like 6 different apps. I just downloaded and tried. a few of them are fully free, a few hive short daily lessons for free, and two of them I subscribe too because they are really good. try using a few to compliment eachother. if also keeps you from getting bored and allows you to see different variations, because everyone signs in a way that feels comfortable with them so there are small variations between each person. I will not name specific apps, out of respect for this one, but I do highly suggest using multiples, especially since most offer small, short lessons so it doesn't take long to get through them. sometimes I dont even advance in the lessons, I just review over and over untill im comfortable with the ones I just learned or already learned, then I move on to add new signs. take your time, get comfortable, most people are just happy your are learning at all.

This was helpful, thank you! This was listed as one of the top apps so I started here. I was just walking the dog and doing a refresher on the alphabet :) I learned it 30ish years ago and was surprised at how much I remembered!

Just saying Hi👋👋👋

Hi👋👋 I am new here I am hearing but I have been around sign language all my life since I was little. I want to say that ASL is a way that all of God's people to be able to communicate. Hearing or not. I thank God for this app and for the ability to learn Asl.

Signing the Sign

Learning a few ASL signs used in Christian worship can help share faith in a clear and meaningful way. • God – An open hand moves upward from the forehead. The motion points upward, symbolizing God above us. • Jesus – The middle finger touches the center of each palm. This represents the nail wounds from the crucifixion. • Pray – Hands together near the chin in a prayer position, representing speaking to God. • Church – Fingers interlock, symbolizing believers gathered together as one body. • Bible – Hands open like a book, representing the Scriptures being read and shared. • Holy Spirit – A hand moves outward from the mouth like breath or wind, reflecting how Scripture often describes the Spirit. These signs are simple, meaningful, and a beautiful way to express faith through American Sign Language. What is your favorite sign?🤔🤔🔥

New to ASL

I am not hearing impaired but am speech impaired. My husband is not speech impaired and is not deaf but is quite hard of hearing. I have unilateral vocal chord paralysis with weak voice and tendency for laryngospasms. We just started learning the alphabet and can only fingerspell slowly. He is not speech impaired. Plan is, he will read my signs and speak for me in public. Am on Section 1, ABC 2. Have learned 19 of 26 letters. Years of learning still ahead but one step at a time.
