To my knowledge there are over 200 variants of sign language. This app only gives a fundamental of ASL. While traveling through Europe I encountered folks who sign and it’s completely different than ASL. A lot of signs we do with one hand they do with two. Learn as much as you can.

I don't want to say this for certain but I feel like I read that asl was originally based off French sign language. you would think if would be British sign language but I was told that is not the case. apparently there are shared signs between asl and fsl so if the information given to me is accurate you can get a good head start learning it here due to the overlap. how ever this is an asl app and they only focus on asl. no other gesture based languages are taught so you would probably want to find different resources specifically for the French version.
