Does it make a difference which hand i use to sign? for example if i sign "yellow" with my left hand or the right is one more correct than the other?

My understanding (I'm still learning too so I might be wrong) is that bsl is signed with your dominant hand, so while you can use either hand for the part shown on one side of the video, you need to be consistent as to whether you are following the directions or mirroring them

I am mainly an ASL native so I don’t know if it is different or what but in ASL you mainly use your right hand. But that is ASL I don’t know about BSL.

Dominant hand signing
So I've learnt that you're meant to use the same hand for each sign, normally your dominant hand, so that's what I've been doing, but the person on the videos appears to be switching thei dominant hand? Are they? Do I stick with one hand? Or am I just meant to sign "apple" with my non-dominant hand? I don't get it, and if they're switching, how do I know which hand I should be using when it's a two hand sign? Also, did anyone else get the question where the answer was "soup" but they spelt "siup" or something?

Grammar question
Basically im on lesson 4 of the animals section and i was struggling to translate from BSL to English. She signed “Chicken” then “Good” and the translation was “The chicken is good”. I was wondering how i would know if it was “The chicken are good” “The chicken is good” Or simply “Chicken is good” or something since she only used two signs. Can someone please explain? :)
