Lost streak due to midnight

I do my my lessons every night after my son goes to bed. I am also doing a Spanish language app as well. Anyway, I stay up late at night and two days ago, I started my first lesson of ASL just before midnight hit. But because I didn’t finish it, I lost my streak. Well, because I ended up using the 6 heartbits effectively after midnight, last night I did not have new refill of heart bits so I used my shards to buy them. I got the lessons done before midnight. Well, I came here to do my lessons for tonight and I have no heart bits. So basically this us now 2 days in a row the system did not give me more heart bits, and because I used my shards to buy heart bits yesterday, I did not get any extra points nor credit for 2 day streak. So I will again lose even the 1 day streak I just started as I will have to wait until tomorrow to get more heart bits from the program. This happened to me one other time as well. The app is unforgiving if you do your lessons over midnight and it sets you back 2 days to get it to reset again.
