Hello I'm just getting started, but I'm still struggling to understand how sentences are created or how I can translate a sentence into ASL

If you are just getting started I suggest you focus on learning as much vocabulary as possible. Then it will be easier to take what you know and apply structure to it. There’s directional verbs, time indicators, non manual markers, classifiers, role shifters, utilization of space just to name a few structural factors. If you have a good vocabulary when interacting with other signers, effective communication is more important than formal structure. Formal structure is critical if you plan to become a certified entrepreter but you’ll find in socializing with everyday folks of the deaf community, everyone has different styles, neuonces and mannerisms. Focus on understanding and structure will come. good luck in your journey.

Thank you very much, I take the classes of the app every day but I was very worried that later people would not understand me because of the structure, I will continue practicing thank you 😭🫶🏻

i’m a beginner just like you. I’ve only been doing this for two months but I have learned basic sentences and so far I’ve learned 218 words and phrases I suggest just learning basic vocab and words we might use everyday life I don’t know if that makes sense. but you would normally just need to learn a lot of words and once you learn words and just basic words, you’ll be able to build a sentence

Me too.
Hey guys so I started learning a few weeks ago but i still don't understand sentence structure. It seems like sometimes the signs are in the order like you would speak but sometimes they're all mixed up. Can so.eone help me understand pls??? 😩🙏
I would really like to learn grammar and sentence structure. I know a little but I mainly sign English word for word.
Hello there I am currently Learning America’s sign language I wanna know how can I get fluent and how do I sign good? Any tips I can get thanks so much
I am wondering when… *The person you are talking about is not present* Say your in a conversation and your talking about “him” or “her”, do you specify in the conversation, “girl” before you point on the side of you or “boy” to be specific in who you are talking about? Thx
I am not sure about sign order. One of the questions in a section exam is to pick the sign order for the phrase “My car is black.” I have tried every combination of selecting the signs for my, car, black … rearranging the signs like “car black my” or “my car black” or “car my black” … and none of them are correct. What is the correct order? My main critique of this app is that it does not adequately teach sentence structure. It mentions it like once and gives no continued instruction to understand how to handle new adjectives.
