In Section 8, Verbs 3, Lesson 1, when going through the questions, one of the videos shows 3 signs:

Homework

I

Forgot

So my answer was:

“I forgot the homework.”

But apparently this was wrong. The answer was:

“I forgot to do the homework”

How are we supposed to know the difference? One could mean a person did the homework but forgot to bring it or turn it in. Or forgetting the homework could also mean forgetting to do it. But there are only the 3 signs.

so I didn't know for sure about this one but one thing I have learned about ASL is that it is highly context sensitive. there are lots of things where you would sign it one way that might seen kinda vague but it makes sense because you have been talking about it so the other person just gets the context where as if there was no context you might have to sign it in a more specific way. so this could be one of those cases how ever there is also the additional part where this app just isn't set up for multiple correct answers and combinations. you could be right that both of those ways are correct but they only programmed one correct response. I have run into multiple instances where I type a sentence with the word order slightly off and it's wrong now even though it's still a proper sentence and conveys the same info but they have one correct order programmed in and if you don't get that order it is considered wrong. it's just a limitation of the app where as a real human teacher could recognize it as correct.

I am wondering when… *The person you are talking about is not present* Say your in a conversation and your talking about “him” or “her”, do you specify in the conversation, “girl” before you point on the side of you or “boy” to be specific in who you are talking about? Thx

sign order

I am not sure about sign order. One of the questions in a section exam is to pick the sign order for the phrase “My car is black.” I have tried every combination of selecting the signs for my, car, black … rearranging the signs like “car black my” or “my car black” or “car my black” … and none of them are correct. What is the correct order? My main critique of this app is that it does not adequately teach sentence structure. It mentions it like once and gives no continued instruction to understand how to handle new adjectives.
