Hello, my name is Kris and as the title states I am soon to be deaf as I have some inner ear issues that will require having the middle ear bones removed from my right ear and my left ear is already mostly deaf. I'm really enjoying learning ASL so far and I'm looking forward to being able to still hold conversations with some even though I won't really be able to hear. I hope everybody had a good Christmas and wish everybody a happy new year!

Hey Kris, I hope and pray 🙏🏽 everything is working out well. Make sure you take care of yourself. If you don't already have or use them, ask or look at the free support caption apps on your phone and other types of things that can be helpful. Try to have a check in person to help for changes you may not notice. For example: At 50, I still have to go to speech 💬, bc it's hard for me to regulate the loudness/force I push toward my vocal cords causing nodules on my vocals cords. In loud areas, my voice moves louder matching the sound/vibrations I feel in the area. At times it hard for me to notice, especially if I sick (ear infections) or exhausted. Again, praying 🙏🏽 for you 🙏🏽!
