At least where I live, ASL classes are very inaccessible. There should be classes inside public schools. It's kinda stupid how hard it is to learn ASL (at least where I live). Not only is it a language, it's a means of accessibility. Why should a language for the deaf be so inaccessible? And it doesn't help that some PAID classes are textbooks. TEXTBOOKS. The teacher barely even knows the language! Anyways I'm done ranting.

Well at my school they have ASL classes but only for deaf people and not just regulars😐 so I actually agree with you😔

I’m dead from birth. I never went to a deaf school, but most of my class actually learnt sign language for me

there’s a community college in my city and they teach asl but it’s a super small class so it’s hard to get into which is why I’m learning here

I am soon to be functionally deaf

Hello, my name is Kris and as the title states I am soon to be deaf as I have some inner ear issues that will require having the middle ear bones removed from my right ear and my left ear is already mostly deaf. I'm really enjoying learning ASL so far and I'm looking forward to being able to still hold conversations with some even though I won't really be able to hear. Interpreting Songs

I've heard from a deaf discord group that interpreting songs isn't ok and goes against deaf values, but I then came across a content creator who was interpreting songs, by the artist I was planning to do at that. (Stray Kids if you're curious) I'm hearing, and very very new into sign. I'm just wondering if my self interpreting songs would be ok? I would start with SEE, but I hope to eventually do it in proper ASL. Just hoping for advice. Thanks!!
