Why are you learning?
Hi! Just wondering why everyone is learning ASL? Also, what’s your favorite sign?
Translating sentences to English
Sometimes, these are extra picky, counting something wrong when the meaning is the same. For instance, I just had the sentence “I think the Astronomy class is boring.” I left out the word ‘the’ and it was counted wrong. I can understand if I left out a word that was actually signed but I hadn’t. I feel there should be a bit of leniency in these situations.
Hola, soy nuevo aquí.
¿Alguno de ustedes habla español pero está aprendiendo el lenguaje de señas estadounidense?
Quick Question
Can I comment in Spanish
I have a problem!
When I was younger I learned sign language basics and the course of What A Beautiful Name It Is by Leland but I lost it and now I don’t remember any of it!! Can I get it back easily
Saying Hi and wondering whats your reason for Asl
Hi👋👋 I am hearing but I have been around sign language all my life since I was little. I want to say that ASL is a way that all of God's people to be able to communicate. Hearing or not. I thank God for this app and for the ability to learn Asl. Whats your reasons for learning? I would l I've to hear your stories 🎵❤️🧶
Have you guys hear about this
Do you all know katsaye and if you do what's your favorite song by them.
‘Date’ sign question
I was wondering if the sign for date meant the noun as in ‘on a date’ or if it meant dating. Or is the sign the same for both usages?
Cool sign
Hi guys, yesterday me and my friend were talking about the word "cool" as in awsome, but i didn't see that word in the dictionary, or even "cool" as in chill or cold, also i'm new to the app so i'm not sure where to search it
Question
I have a question…so the sign for (wish) is also the sign for (hungry)? Or are they different in any way? The word hungry won’t come up in the dictionary on this app and the word wish won’t come up on my other ASL dictionary app so 🤷🏻♀️
new here
Is there any way to practice with other users?
App Update??
Does anybody know if the app will be updated any time soon? I really want to be able to move on to Lesson 18 instead of doing the random 6 from what I've already learned.

Why are you learning ASL?
What led you to start learning ASL? Do you have a friend or family member who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing you with the communicate with? Or have you just always been curious? Please comment your reason or story below! When I was young, my family was close friends with a Deaf family. I had some experience in a Deaf household, however I didn't learn more than the alphabet as the two daughters were both hearing. Ever since, I have wanted to learn. Now, in my mid-twenties, I started working in the school system. There is a little boy who is Deaf that I work with. His family does not sign, and he currently has no access to any language besides an AAC device that he doesn't understand or want. His family will not allow the school to send him to a specialized school for him to learn ASL. What little I have picked up from Deaf content creators and apps, I began trying to sign with him. Basics like socks and shoes, or time to go eat or go outside. He has responded well and everything is no longer a fight. He has also began communicating with me. Over the holiday break I have been trying to learn as much as I can to help him when we return. I want to be clear. The state just started sending someone in once a month for an hour to try to teach him ASL, but she's missed more sessions so far than she's made. I have zero intentions of trying to teach him ASL as I am not qualified. I am only hoping to communicate with him in some way to help him until he finally is able to learn in the future. I am looking forward to where 2026 takes me. I am looking into taking courses to become fluent. If anyone has any recommendations on that, I would love them. Please leave your story below, I'd love to read it.
